Phone Gun is a VR game made during the VRNL VR Game Jam of February 2016. I had less time than I was used to for jams (about 1.5 days), plus it was the first time I had to coordinate a small team, but we still pulled off something playable.
The game is a small VR shooting gallery. You’re on a train passing by a landscape littered with targets. The train will stop after a certain distance, and your goal is to increase this distance by shooting targets. Try to get as far as possible while the train speeds up!
Inspired by light gun arcade games. The name comes from the fact you can also use your Android phone to control the gun, sadly we didn’t have time to tweak the gyro tracking to actually aim with it, but you perform tap gestures to shoot and reload. Instructions are in the download.
Credits to Manjunath Ramachandrappa for working on the android app, and Danny for creating the floating drone targets.
